Is this actually free, or free-then-charged?
Actually free. No card at any point, and the 50 generations don't convert into a subscription when they run out — you'd just be back to a normal account. The founding discount is a thank-you for feedback, not a trap door.
What if I'm not a designer?
Good — I need you more than I need designers. Most of what breaks in a tool like this breaks for people who don't already know what a bézier handle is, and I can't see those problems myself anymore.
Do I keep the fonts if I don't continue?
Yes. Anything you export is yours to use commercially, forever, whether or not you ever pay me a cent. No watermarks, no revocation, no expiry.
What does "feedback" actually mean here?
A short form after you've made one font — five questions, about ten minutes. If you want to go deeper I'll happily take a call, but that's optional and I won't chase you for it.
What happens if I'm not picked?
You can still make fonts — every account starts with five free generations, no application required. And if people drop out I'll go back to the list, so applying isn't wasted.
Who's behind this?
Paul Yerrick. One person, building this because turning a piece of lettering into a font you can actually type with should not require a week and a $400 app.
